Teddy & Friends Playground & Caffé

Teddy & Friends is a small indoor playground and family café on Avenida de Pádua, on the edge of Parque das Nações in Lisbon. It splits its play space into rooms, so a crawling baby and a five-year-old are not competing for the same slide:

• a baby room, described as a comfortable play area made for the youngest visitors
• a big slide room
• an art room
• a mini disco
• a terrace and garden outside

The rules also mention a ball pit.

The indoor rooms are air-conditioned, which matters in a Lisbon August and on wet winter days. The about page says the team focuses on play-based learning, inclusion and safety, and lists two babysitters among the staff alongside the café team.

The Teddy Caffé is mainly for parents. It serves espresso, cappuccino, latte and flat white, fresh orange juice and water. The food list includes a Teddy sandwich, a mixed toast (the Portuguese ham and cheese toastie), tuna toast, vegan toast and pancakes, “and much more”. The café says items and availability can change. There is outdoor seating on the terrace and in the garden.

Food and drink are not allowed in the ball pit or slide areas, so snacks happen at the tables.

Entry is charged per child, by time, when checked in September 2026:

• 1 hour: €13
• each extra 10 minutes: €2.50
• 10-hour pack: €100
• 20-hour pack: €180

Parents and other adults with the children do not pay. From Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 14:00, there is a happy hour: pay for an hour and get 30 extra minutes free. That slot suits toddlers who nap in the afternoon.

Teddy & Friends runs workshops for children, and the website lists arts and crafts, painting and drawing, sensory activities, children’s cooking, seasonal activities, creative games, face painting and themed sessions. Depending on the workshop, the price can include the activity, playground time, materials and a snack or water. Places are limited, and the schedule changes regularly, so check Instagram or contact them to book.

• Wash or sanitise children’s hands before going into the play area.
• Parents and accompanying adults are responsible for their children and for following the safety rules. The website does not offer drop-off, so plan to stay.
• There are no birthday parties. The website says Teddy & Friends does not host parties or private hire and concentrates on everyday play, family time and workshops.
• The listed hours close for an hour between 15:00 and 16:00.

The playground is at Avenida de Pádua 10, with EMEL pay parking on the same avenue about 3 to 5 minutes’ walk away. It is handy for a morning in Parque das Nações: the Oceanário, the Pavilhão do Conhecimento science centre and the riverside cable car are all in the district. The small city farm at Quinta Pedagógica dos Olivais, with cows, donkeys and goats, is also in the area.

Do parents pay at Teddy & Friends?
