Aquaplay Complexo Piscinas

Aquaplay (Complexo Piscinas Aquaplay) is a privately run outdoor pool complex in Regadas, a rural parish of Fafe, about 10 minutes from the centres of both Fafe and Felgueiras. It opens for the summer only, from 10 June to 15 September, every day from 10:00 to 19:00, and it may stay shut on rainy days.

It’s a much smaller and simpler place than the Parque Aquático de Fafe across town. There are two pools, a jacuzzi, a snack bar and a very large lawn. For families with toddlers and preschoolers that can be the better choice: the children’s pool is mostly shallow enough for a two-year-old to sit in, and the whole site is easy to keep an eye on.

Aquaplay says its two pools have more than 550 square metres of water between them, surrounded by more than 4,000 square metres of natural grass.

The children’s pool

The children’s pool has two parts:

• A splash area with a maximum depth of 25 cm, fitted with water toys, three slides and a water mushroom (cogumelo de água), the umbrella-shaped fountain that pours a curtain of water over whoever stands underneath.
• A free bathing area with a maximum depth of 60 cm, for children who want to paddle, sit and play in slightly deeper water.

For most children under about six, that’s the whole day’s entertainment. Older children who can swim will head for the big pool.

The adults’ pool and jacuzzi

The adults’ pool is up to 1.70 metres deep and is linked by a shallow stretch of water to a jacuzzi. The rules don’t say what age children can use the jacuzzi, so ask the lifeguard or staff.

Aquaplay sells day tickets, season tickets and 10-entry packs, in person or online. The 2026 ticket page lists a season ticket for the 2026 bathing season (non-transferable, checked against your citizen card), a 10-entry pack for June, July and September, and a 10-entry pack for August.

The only price table on the site when checked in September 2026 was labelled 2024:

• June, July and September, weekdays: children and seniors €3, young people and adults €5
• June, July and September, weekends: children and seniors €4, young people and adults €6
• August, every day: children and seniors €5, young people and adults €7
• Season ticket: €100
• 10-entry packs: €38 for June, July and September; €50 for August
• Extras: parasol €2.50, sun lounger €4, side table €2

The table doesn’t say what age counts as a child, so check at the ticket desk. A family of two adults and two children would pay €16 on a July weekday or €24 on an August day at those prices.

If you want to leave and come back the same day, get a return pass from reception before you go out, or you’ll have to buy a new ticket.

From Aquaplay’s rules (normas de funcionamento):

• Children under 14 can’t come in without an adult who is responsible for watching them and for their behaviour.
• Babies in either pool must wear nappies designed for swimming. Proper swimwear and footwear are required for everyone, whatever their age.
• Armbands and rubber rings are allowed for children. Airbeds and other inflatables are not.
• Shower before you get in, and use the steps to get into the pools. No diving or jumping in.
• No ball games, no running or pushing, and no splashing other people.
• No sun creams or oils that could affect the water, so put sun cream on well before swimming.
• No glass, porcelain or anything sharp, no speakers without headphones, and no animals.
• No eating, drinking or smoking in the pools. Meals go in the areas set aside for eating.
• Changing rooms are separate for men and women; children over 8 use the one for their own sex.
• The complex can close to new visitors when it’s full, and if the water is contaminated it can close without refunds.

Schools and other groups can be given a reserved area closed to the public, so part of the complex may be taken on some days.

Aquaplay is in Regadas, and the site gives a Google Maps link for directions. Ave Mobilidade buses stop nearby at the Contenças stop (25790), according to Aquaplay. Check the Ave Mobilidade timetable, as rural buses are infrequent.

There’s a snack bar, toilets, men’s and women’s changing rooms and a first-aid post. Shade comes from parasols you rent or bring (the rules don’t ban your own parasol, unlike the big water park), and any trees around the lawn. On a busy August weekend, arriving at 10:00 gets you the best spot on the grass near the children’s pool.

It’s a place for splashing and lying on the grass. Older children after big slides and drops will be bored within an hour; the Parque Aquático de Fafe or the Scorpio pools in Guimarães suit them better.

Is Aquaplay good for toddlers?

Yes, it’s built around them. The splash area in the children’s pool is no more than 25 cm deep, with three small slides and a water mushroom, and the paddling area next to it is no more than 60 cm deep.

Do babies need swim nappies at Aquaplay?

Yes. The rules say babies can’t be in either pool without swim nappies.

How much does Aquaplay cost?

On the 2024 price table still shown in September 2026, a child’s day ticket cost €3 on weekdays in June, July and September, €4 at weekends and €5 in August. Adults paid €5, €6 and €7.

When is Aquaplay open?

From 10 June to 15 September, every day from 10:00 to 19:00, except on rainy days when it may close.

Can my child go without an adult?

Not under 14. Under-14s need an adult who is responsible for them.
