Camelot Park

Camelot Park calls itself “o pequeno reino infantil”, the little children’s kingdom. It is an indoor play centre on Avenida Menéres in the centre of Matosinhos, just north of Porto, and the knights-and-castles theme runs right through it: even the party menus are named after Merlin and King Arthur.

What makes it different from most soft play is who watches the children. The website says the play zones are for children only and that Camelot Park’s own monitors (the staff who supervise play) stay with them, while adults wait and use the cafeteria. The park’s rules add that the café is for the adults accompanying children on parties or individual entries. For a tired parent, that means a coffee and a conversation without keeping one eye on a slide.

There are two play areas, split by age.

The Baby Park is for children aged 2 to 4. It is the smaller, gentler space, so toddlers are not bowled over by bigger children.

The main playground and the inflatables are for children up to 12 and no taller than 1.50 m. The website gives the lower age as 4, while the park’s rules PDF says 3, so ask when you book if you have a three-year-old who wants to join older siblings.

Children should wear comfortable clothes, such as tracksuits, leggings and T-shirts, and leave behind anything they could hurt themselves on, including necklaces, watches and phones.

Outside food and drink are not allowed. The café is there for adults while children play, but the website does not publish a café menu or prices.

The party menus show what the kitchen makes for children. Every menu includes a birthday cake (chocolate, orange or yoghurt), chips, sweets, iced tea and water. The Merlin (€13.50 a child) and Rei Artur (€15) menus add bico de pato pasta, a short duck-bill shaped pasta, served with cheese or ham, and the Rei Artur and Camelot (€17) menus add jelly or mousse and a small present for each guest. The Camelot menu swaps the pasta for pizza. Prices are from when we checked in September 2026. For food allergies, the rules ask you to speak to staff.

Parties last two hours: 90 minutes of play and 30 minutes of food at the end. The minimum charge is for ten children, even if fewer come. You pay a non-refundable deposit and confirm numbers 48 hours before. During a party, only the birthday child’s parents or two responsible adults can stay around the playground and at the table; the adult in charge must be there when guests arrive and when they are handed back to their parents. Fireworks and piñatas are not allowed.

Camelot Park takes groups from holiday camps, ATL (after-school clubs) and other institutions and prepares a proposal for each one. It does not advertise a holiday camp that individual families can book, so this is for organised groups, which could include a homeschool group.

You can’t just turn up. Individual entries need a phone booking and depend on how full the park is. Parties take up much of the calendar, so ring a few days ahead for weekends. The park does not accept Multibanco, and its rules say hours can change without notice, for example for maintenance.

For older, more energetic children, JumpYard Matosinhos in Perafita has trampolines, a ninja course and climbing walls. On a dry day, Praia de Matosinhos is the big city beach where many children learn to surf (read our page on its swimming warnings first), and the Piscina Municipal de Matosinhos is the council’s indoor pool.

Can I leave my child at Camelot Park?

The play zones are for children only and are supervised by Camelot Park’s monitors, while adults wait in the on-site café. It is not a drop-off service where you leave the building.
