Play Albufeira

There are two soft play areas. One is new and only for babies and toddlers; the other is the main frame for older children, which the new owners have improved. Around them are role-play toys and a dressing-up corner. Reviews quoted on the centre’s website mention a Lego wall, old Sonic arcade games, colouring and a separate indoor room with books, many of them in English, and a kitchenette.

The owners have been adding a garden at the back with more games and a trampoline. By autumn 2026 the party and event pages describe a shared outdoor soft play area and trampolines, so the garden now has play space for children as well as tables for adults.

Jo and Steve say they have lived in the Algarve for more than 20 years, used to build soft play units in the UK and Europe, and are qualified first aid instructor trainers. They are English and speak Portuguese and German between them. The play areas have been independently safety inspected, according to the website.

The pricing is built to make you stay and eat. Play on its own costs €6 for an hour, €10 for two hours or €17 for four. If you eat or drink in the garden or restaurant, play costs €10 and your children can stay as long as they like. On a long rainy afternoon that is cheaper than the four-hour ticket.

The kitchen serves snacks, drinks and what the website calls homemade dinners at low prices. It does not publish a day-to-day menu online, so ask what is on. Visitors mention smoothies and coffee, and one review notes that cards are accepted.

Play Albufeira runs a busy events calendar, with tickets sold through its website. The Monday workshops start at 11:00 and change each week: slime, painting on canvas, printing with food, sensory walks or decorating picture frames. They cost €15 and include unlimited play that day. Parents come along, and the website describes them as a meet-up for mums while the children make things.

On some summer evenings there is a BBQ and play night from 17:00 with unlimited barbecue food; in June 2026 it was €19 for adults, €15 for children or €50 for a family. Themed parties run through the year. In 2026 there were pirate and pizza parties, Easter parties, a K-pop party and a summer dance workshop (€25 with play and a meal), and the Halloween party on 31 October 2026 has sessions from 11:00 and 17:00 at €18.50 a ticket.

Birthday parties run in three slots: 10:00 to 13:00, 13:30 to 16:30 and 17:00 to 20:00. Party menus are €22 a child (minimum 12 children, with a private indoor room), €25 (minimum 15, whole venue private) or €28 (minimum 20). They include sandwiches, pizza or mini burgers, crisps, fruit and sweets, jelly and chocolate biscuit cake, plus a bottle of wine or jugs of sangria for the adults. Parents stay and watch their own children; staff do not look after them, and none of the workshops is a drop-off session. The centre is closed on Tuesdays, according to a review on its own site. Opening times are not otherwise published, so message on WhatsApp before a special trip.

For outdoor play, Parque da Alfarrobeira is Albufeira’s biggest playground, and Parque de Vale Faro has a lake and picnic tables. Praia dos Pescadores is the lifeguarded town beach below the old town. Play Albufeira is smaller than Adventure HQ near Alcantarilha, which has more outdoor space.

How much does Play Albufeira cost?

When checked in September 2026: €6 for one hour, €10 for two hours, €17 for four hours, or €10 for unlimited play if you eat or drink there.

Is it suitable for babies?

Yes. There is a soft play area just for babies and toddlers, apart from the main frame.

Is it open on Tuesdays?

Can I book a birthday party there?

Yes, by email. There are three party slots a day and menus from €22 a child, with a minimum of 12 children.

Can I leave my child for a workshop?

No. The Monday workshops are for children and parents together.
